American Turbine and National Pump Company merged their two Lubbock pump manufacturing plants into one plant in 2014. National Pump Company moved their equipment and personnel to the American Turbine plant. In order to accommodate the equipment of two plants into one, several of the existing American Turbine buildings are being modified over at least four phases, each phase is scheduled to take about one year to complete. The phase featured is the first phase, the addition to the Tubing Building and complete renovation of the existing Tubing Building. The renovation work included two new accessible toilet rooms, break room, offices, data equipment room, long term mezzanine storage. The addition also includes two 4 ton bridge cranes, radiant heaters, high bay efficient lights, and a fully automatic fire sprinkler system. The project was substantially complete in February 2015.
Phase II, a new 12,000 square foot administration building is in the design phase and is scheduled to begin construction in 2016. Phase three, Pump Assembly and Testing Facilities are to receive major additions in 2016. Phase Four, Site improvements for shipping and receiving will complete the plants over haul in 2017.
