Grape Creek ISD Middle School - Classroom Additions
Location: Grape Creek, Texas
Client: Grape Creek Independent School District
Project Completion: January 2006
Project Size: 24,000 SF
Total Budget: $155,000
Chapman Harvey Architects, Inc. worked with the Board of Trustees and the Superintendent of Grape Creek Independent School District to complete a classroom addition to their existing middle school and elementary facilities. The projects recently executed were identified as district needs as the result of a facilities assessment performed by CHA the year before, and included the Phase I renovations to the grade school toilets, and the Phase II addition of a middle school and elementary library, a band hall, two technology labs, a science lab, and six classrooms. CHA will also be assisting GCISD in the future with numerous other projects, including a kitchen renovation, play pavilion structure, and others.
As with many school districts, GCISD had very limited funding for the new facilities, and CHA was diligent in balancing the need for meeting the budget with the need for this addition to serve many generations of GCISD Eagles. As the Board of Trustees conducted their final acceptance walk through in January of 2006, they were obviously pleased with the results and marveled at the extent to which their community’s tax dollars were able to be stretched. From facility assessment to fruition, the CHA team was able to help the GCISD Eagles take flight in their pursuit of academic excellence.
